
Ingredients for Batata Vada Filling:
- 2 tps Batata Vada Mix
- 6 boiled and mashed potatoes
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
Ingredients for Besan Batter:
1 cup Besan (Gram Flour)
1 tbsp Rice flour (optional, crispiness ke liye)
¼ tsp Haldi
¼ tsp Ajwain (optional, digestion ke liye)
Salt – to taste
Approx. ½ cup Water (adjust as needed for consistency)
Oil – for deep frying
Method
Prepare the Filling
In a bowl, combine mashed potatoes, Batata Vada Mix, salt, and chopped coriander leaves.
Mix well and shape into small round balls.
Prepare the Batter
In another bowl, add besan, rice flour, turmeric, ajwain, and salt. Mix well.
Gradually add water and whisk into a smooth, medium-thick batter (not too runny, not too thick).
Let the batter rest for 10 minutes.
Fry the Vadas
Heat oil in a deep pan on medium flame.
Just before frying, add a pinch of baking soda to the batter (optional, for a lighter coating).
Dip each potato ball in the batter, coat evenly, and gently drop into hot oil.
Fry until golden brown and crisp.
Serve
Enjoy hot and crispy Karjat ka Vada with green chutney or dry garlic chutney for an authentic Maharashtrian taste.
