Ingredients:
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 200g chicken or vegetables
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 tbsp Biryani Masala
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- Fresh coriander and mint leaves, chopped
- 1-2 green chilies, slit
- Salt to taste
- Oil or ghee for cooking
Instructions:
Cook Rice: Rinse rice and soak for 20 minutes. Cook until 80% done and drain.
Prepare Biryani Base: Heat oil or ghee in a pan, sauté onions until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste, tomatoes, and Biryani Masala. Cook until fragrant.
Add Protein/Vegetables: Add chicken or vegetables, yogurt, salt, green chilies, and cook until tender.
Layering: In a pot, layer half the cooked rice, add the cooked chicken/vegetables, top with remaining rice, and sprinkle fresh herbs.
Steam: Cover and cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
Serve: Gently mix and serve hot with raita or salad!
